Measuring the state of the cutaneous barrier

Corneocyte concentrations can be assessed by D-Squame® sampling. Sampling is carried out using a transparent adhesive disc, glued and held to the skin surface with a standardised weight integrated into a pusher.

 

 

It samples the first superficial layers of the skin and evaluates the cohesion of the corneocytes according to a scoring scale from 1 to 5 or by image analysis using the Quantisquam® software.
